I Just Discovered Ms. Scraplift #25...UPDATED

...and OH My God!! This lady has some SERIOUS talent here!! I was browsing the digishoptalk's forums and I came across a thread talking about Sal...and I just had to click on the link. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY with her sense of color, artistic capabilities and the knack for the perfect picture combined with the perfect papers and kit. I did not see one layout that wasn't great!! I don't think that I have ever seen any of her layouts. Makes me even more determined to dig deep into people's layout galleries even MORE!!

So, it was really hard to pick one, but I knew she HAD to be the next scraplift. She will challenge me to release my doodle - artsy side that is itching to get out but I don't know how to let her out!! I have chosen her "Stillness" layout.

You can give her some lovin' and see all the credits here:

SalRosselli's Stillness Layout

I got a few emails of people who said that this layout was so perfect that they didn't think they could do it justice...so I applaud Buge, who did send in her lift! I thought it was really intricate myself and feel that I did it justice, but it's in no way as artistic as Sal did. I KNOW others of you HAD to have tried to lift this - if you did - PLEASE share it!!! I'll put them right up!!

All I can say is Sal, you're one of a kind and it looks like people can't replicate what you do!! What a compliment!!!

Here's the layouts I did get:

This is mine. It really made me stretch because I'm not the doodly artistic type - I strive to be more graphic and simple...so this was a REAL stretch for me...Credits: I didn't try to copy it, but use it as a scrap inspiration - cuz hers was just too good!!!!

I love this picture of my daughter and have scrapped it before - but had to do it again!!! Enjoy and TFL

Gina Cabrera:
Doodles for Asher Kit butterfly doodle, picture frame doodles
BookBag Essentials for the tag
Shabby Shack: pink text paper and measuring tape ribbon

This next one is by Buge:

I love climbing mountains. Somebody took this photo of me while I was staring at one of the peaks of the mountain that we're climbing.
The journaling is Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken.

Scraplift #24 Is Updated with Layouts!

Get it, tearing me up? The picture is in three pieces?? Ah, never mind - bad attempt at humor!

Anyways... I was browsing the gallery at Scrapbook Bytes and I saw this GORGEOUS layout. I was immediately drawn in by the tiled photo and then those tiny little heart accents. I had to know what the font was she used and who did such a great layout. I found out after reading it that it was Agnes (Chibikko) who did this wonderful layout. Then I found out that it was a scraplift of Gina Cabrera's Happy Birthday layout for Auntie Pea!! I guess I"m nothing if not consistent - I love Gina's work and I'm honored to be on her Guest Design Team for the next 2 months... :-)

Tthis layout just resonates with me. I know it has to do with its simplicity, with it's clean lines, but I think more than anything else - it's just totally different!!! It stands out in a crowd. Thank you Gina and Agnes, for challenging me, yet again, to be a more versatile scrapper - and I can't WAIT to try this tiling technique!!

Agnes says this about her layout: "I've been wanting to scrap this picture of Tokyo tower that I took in spring and this layout is perfect for me to use for the scraplift challenge at DDE also.

I saw Gina's layout here
Happy Birthday Shawn!

I used all Gina's elements:
paper - Happy Girl kit
inked edge - Twist of Lime
hearts - Beadazzle Hearts Snippet Essentials
corners - Felts Photo Corners Snippet Essentials

Check out Agnes' layout here at SBB and leave her some lovin' if you get a chance.

La Tour Eiffel?

Off to scrap!

Here are the lifts:

This one is my entry. I just ADORE this layout!!!!!! My mom and daughter had been growing a green bean teepee for most of the summer and the first bean was finally big enough to eat - and she hated it!! I used Ronna Penner's Nature's Beauty and photo corners from Mulberry Street.

Cielo offers this awesome rendition: Here's my scraplift. It seems perfect for the lift since it's a tower too! the essences of Malaysia, its richness in culture and its extraordinary vision for the future. The building is rooted in tradition and about Malaysia's aspiration and ambition" - The Architect (of Petronas)

This is such a clever take on this layout: Amy says, "I am so glad I found your site. It is just the inspiration I need for quick summer pages.

I loved the original layout here and just had to lift it and do the fun photo trick. I immediately thought of myself and how I often feel like I am in pieces going different directions but I NEVER scrap myself so this was hard for me. I almost didn't finish. But I am glad I did.

This is Karen's beautiful and touching lift: She says, "This is my son back in 1994 with his grandfather, who has since had a stroke and lost his speech. They were so close when my son was little. I’m so grateful they spent so many tender moments together like this one. This picture was taken in Chile while we were there for a family wedding. We were on a little excursion and were just enjoying the beautiful countryside. "
