Scraplift #23 - Your Layouts Added!!!

I was browsing the galleries at at Digishoptalk.com, trying to find a layout that wowed me - and this one just made my clean and simple radar go crazy. I LOVE this layout, the color choices, the picture ... everything!! Someone made a comment on this layout that said, "Cathy Z. would LOVE this one..." or something to that effect, and I totally agree. My favorite book right now is Cathy Z.'s Clean and Simple Scrapbooking - so that made me feel even happier to choose it!

Then, I had to go on a search to find Crazygirl's name - cuz it's NOWHERE on her layouts or comments - so, if my research is wrong - sorry!! I would LOVE to know her real name. I THINK her name is Jacque! If anyone knows for sure, please let me know!

She describes her layout simply: "Scraplifted from a paper layout by Jen Olson from the Aug CK mag (page 113). Kit is puppy love from the CD collection "this love" by Dani Mogstad to be released Jul. 28th at designbydani. Inked overlay by Jan Crowley of thedigichick."

Here is the link to her layout. Please give it some lovin' there, get your favorite pic and scrap kit out and join me in scrapping this fabulous layout!!!

Jens on How To Play

Let's get on to the lifts! I was so excited to see these pour in for this great layout. I love what you all did with this and I can't wait for Jacque (and Jen, who's HoF entry this is lifted from) to see what the layouts look like!

This one is my entry. I was so happy with the layout that she did that I did very few alterations to it. I'm weird and I just can't do unjustified journaling blocks - so I did that and switched the placement!

I used Gina Cabrera's DayDream Kit, inked edges from Book Bag Essentials with a reduced opacity, the alpha from Shabby Shack and Willing Race font

This one is from Amy Credits: Paper and brush-stroke from Gina/DDE, Slices of Summer. "J" from Shabby Princess, Splendid (recolored). Font is FGAmelia.

Amy says this about the original layout and her own: "This layout is amazing. I may lift it several times. I kept thinking of other ways to do it. LOL But this time I took the cleanest. I loved SMJ kraft paper and had planned that for mine but it took away from the mood of the page, white just works better. These were photos I snapped of my son in May enjoying sprinkler play with his brother and cousins. Thanks so much for your inspiration."

This is Shabby Miss Jenn's adorable entry: She says, " Just loved this photo...I did the digiscraplift from Susan's blog. It was a great lift.

I used Scrapartist's Copacabana paper set. Gina Cabrera's kraft paper, ribbon, and line paper. Heather Ann's flower and alpha, fonts-century gothic and creampuff. "

This is from Marcy - and she says, "I just found your blog today. I don't usually do blogs, but yours was irresistible! I scraplift almost everything because I have 7 kids and very little brains left! lol I need my scrapping time to count, so I scraplift. Below is my layout and here are the credits: Gina Miller Signature series Sketch 16 kit, font is 39 smooth"

And Lilli offers this layout and says: "I have admired your blog for some time, but this was the first time I have participated in one of your scraplifts. I loved crazygirl’s layout exactly as it was so I didn’t get very creative. My layout was created using Jen Wilson’s Urban Bohemian kit (altered using the multiply layer style in Photoshop to match the intensity of the photo).Thank You for picking such great layouts to scraplift"

Karen offers this beautiful layout: She says this: "Here are the credits: Jen Wilson Stitching Fresh Oasis by Kristin Cronin-Barrow at AcherryOnTop Font = Mom’s Typewriter, Carpenter ICG

Journaling = You could not get enough of this water bottle during the Beauty and the Beast Show at MGM Studios in Orlando. You are the perfect model to demonstrate just how refreshing water can be. It wasn’t actually open, but that didn’t stop you from constantly biting on the tip and inverting the bottle every so often. You were more entertaining for me than the show we were supposed to be watching. "

Selena says, "Hi! I really had some fun with this scraplift, such a great LO by crazygirl. I decided to scrap about my son, the perfect boy in my opinion. Kit: "Cotton Blue" by malia michele. Fonts: Cry kitty, Beth Hand Greetings, Selana"

MIchelle offers this layout and says this about her layout: "Did this for the challenge. All papers and elements are from Kim Higueria's new kit Morocco from her blog. Journaling reads: Being A Little Person - Has never been easy. We watch you fall and get up... and believe us when we say it hurts our hearts to see you cry. I wish that we could shelter you from all the pain and hurt that might happen in your life. One day some girl will break your heart, and we won’t know how to make you feel better. Hopefully these small yet significant things won’t begin to happen to you until you are old enough to understand that life has growing pains... Until that time comes, we will just wipe away your tears and wait for the next fall. Fonts used were: Pea Jeanie Script, Pea Jessi, Stamp Act"

Brokenhearted me.

The Journalling is from the song Tender by Blur:

tender is the night lying by your side
tender is the touch of someone that you love too much
tender is my heart for screwing up my life
lord i need to find someone who can heal my mind
c'mon c'mon c'mon get through it
c'mon c'mon c'mon love's the greatest thing
c'mon c'mon c'mon get through it
c'mon c'mon c'mon love's the greatest thing that we have
i'm waiting for that feeling, waiting for that feeling
waiting for that feeling to come
oh my baby, oh my baby, oh why, oh my
oh my baby, oh my baby, oh why, oh my

Jenny says, : "I did this layout for the scraplift challenge blog (Pachimac/Susan's. I believe it is a scraplift of the fab crazyscrapper (Jacque) who scraplifted a CK HOF LO by Jenn Olson. Credits: Dani Mogstad's gorgeous This Love CD (Bold Moves kit), font is trebuchet, traci murphy drop shadow actions.

SarahMD :This LO is about my mom and my inability to scrap about her death...hopefully this is a start to helping me.

Journaling:
It’s been over a year since you passed away
and I have only a few layouts about you. I haven’t
written out the story, I don’t gaze at your pictures
missing you terribly, even though I want to. I
watch movies and burst into hysterics because the
characters are feeling the similar feelings I felt. I
still feel them. You were undeniably my best friend
and my main support person. You were and still
very much are my mommy. I find myself raising
Brooklynn and trying to duplicate your ways. I try to
hear your voice telling me to count to 10 and to not
get so worked up. Why don’t I scrap you more?
I have so many questions. After Uncle Bill committed
suicide, which I haven’t scrapped about either, I’ve felt
like life is so unplanned and unexpected no matter how
hard you try to control it. I don’t want to let your
memory go, but I still can’t bring myself to scrap
about this whole issue. I can scrap about your life, and
mine, and Maddies, and now Brooklynn’s, but the death
of you is something I feel like I’m not ready to face.
No matter how long it’s been, I’ll never really believe
it. I still question my ability to move on. You must
be with me, because you know I get scared about
life, but yet I’m still moving forward. I am also
mourning the fact that Brooklynn will never know
the real you, the you in person. She’ll only know you
through me and her Aunt Maddie. I miss you mommy!

Leilas says about her layout: "There was a point in D's life when we were convinced that he would never smile. I have nearly two years of pictures in which Devin has the most somber face a little boy can have. This picture, taken 2½ months ago shows me just how far he's come with the therapy he receives in school. He's no longer aloof and in his own world. His joy is ours, his smile is our sunshine, and Crazygirl's gorgeous and simple layout design gave me the perfect way to showcase this new-ish skill of his.

Journaling reads:

Debug, I love your smile. I love the way it crinkles your nose & how it lights up your eyes. I love your smile. I love how your cute little dimple gets so deep and pronounced, I love seeing your cheeks puff up and your teeth peek out. I love your smile. I "heart" seeing the joy I've always know you had inside of you. I love your smile, your joy...I love you!"

Here are the rest of the layouts I received this week...

Scraplift # 22 is Kathleen4444 -UPDATED

This layout, "Chloe on the Rocks", by Kathleen is simply AMAZING to me. I don't know if it's those divine pictures, the colors, or the font work - whatever it is that makes this layout SHINE is just fabulous!!!

This is actually a scrap lift of one of the fantabulous Shabby Miss Jenn's layouts - so that makes this kind of a scrap lift of a scrap lift. Either way - it's fabulous on it's own merits.

Here's where you can find Kathleen's at scrapbook bytes:

Chloe on the Rocks

Here is the layout she scrap lifted of SMJ's:

Charming

Are you ready?? Let's scrap!!!!!!

Here are the lifts I have so far:

This is the layout by Shabby Miss Jenn that started it all! She says, "Just LOVE this kit from Scrapartist! Just scrapped about our dd being charming even though she lacks her two top teeth now! LOL"

Fonts-Satisfaction, Century Gothic

Chipboard "C" by Shabby Princess, eyelet by Gina Cabrera, pink rhinestone by Miss Mint.

Journaling-Even with two front teeth missing, you are still one extremely charming little girl. Now you are talking with a lisp so every time you say the “s” sound, it comes out as “th” sound instead. This is the cuuutest thing in the world. Not only are you cute but you are so darling. Your personality is continually changing and you are just evolving into a charming little being. A sweet little cute funny spontaneous princess.

So, I loved this one so much I did it twice! LOL! I think this layout is so perfect that I really didn't do much to change it - can't improve too much on perfection!!!

I used various pieces from Gina Cabrera to make my scrap lift:
-Mono Pack Essentials for the purple papers - used hue and saturation to get it to match Melissa's bathing suit.
-Twist of Lime for the Staple
- for the stamped Alpha
- Adore kit for the teal colored paper. I used curves and the selection tool to make the darker teal out of the teal paper too.
-Sweet and Spicy Kit for the purple paper. It was originally olive green and I changed it to match the bathing suit colors.

I loved it so much here's my second lift: I made Pesto Pasta for dinner one night and Mike and I both hated it, but Melissa loved it!! I think she liked playing with it more than anything else tho...

I used Gina Cabrera's New Slice of Summer Paper Pack, Office Essentials Kraft Paper Pack, Office Essentials stamps, Office Essentials Labels, and twist of lime staple.

Scraplift #21 - UPDATED

Sunkissed Summer
Scraplift #21 is by Susan, user name Memories at Scrapbook bytes. I have just been introduced to her work as I was browsing the Gina Cabrera digital layout gallery over at SBB.

What do I like about this layout? First of all, the perfect choice of warm summery colors that complement the picture perfectly. I love the clean, simple layout and wonderful journaling . The title is fun and the font choice perfect.

Susan has a great eye for clean, simple and beautiful layouts - something I am aspiring to be!!

So join with me in scraplifting her Sunkissed Summer Layout - and leave her some praise if you so desire...

----------------

This is my take on Susan's page. I decided that it was so perfect that I lifted it as precisely as I could and then changed the wording and embellishment that I used.

I used Gina Cabrera's Lucky Star Kit and recolored the papers to match the orange in Melissa's shirt more perfectly, Snippet Collection, Felt Flowers, and stitches from Delightful.

This one is from Shabby Miss Jenn: Loooooove these papers sooo much! I wish they were fabric! LOL I used Anna Sophia Paper Pack. "C" made from Shabby Princess Serenity Alpha, Tag from Diry Boy, gellin dot from Sweet Sprinkles and stitching is from Shabby Shoppe Stitching pack.

This is a lift from a friend at another site.
Fonts-Napoli Light, Misproject, Miss

You definitely have some of the most cuuutest smiles and giggles. Just adorable. You always show to others that you have such a friendly disposition from those smiles, laughs and giggles. You totally enjoy a great laugh, live for it more likely. And always are back from more. Silly and happy girl.

From Liss: This is a photo of my Mum as a bridesmaid in the early 60s, one of my closest and most wonderful friends, Nikki ( www.nikki-ann.co.uk ) did some restoration on it for me, and when I saw this challenge I LOVED the layout to lift so much, and was dying to use these papers I had bought ages ago so I couldn't resist! I am really pleased with the resulting layout, especially as it is my Mum that I scrapped, and just doing it bought me so much joy.

PRODUCTS: Kim Christensen's Sunshine papers from her In The Garden Collection. Sara Carling's sea glass and twine, Tonya Doughty's stitching embellishments, Cheryl Barber's Sew Simple clasp thingies, and Shabby Princess's faux jewels.

Rachel sent me a link to this adorable little page and she describes it:

A LO of my boys pretending to drive my car during our road trip from Indiana to Georgia.

Journaling reads: "While we were driving home from Indiana, we stopped to go potty and clean up because Ian was sick. Daddy and I let you two play in the front seat of the car, and you looked like you were driving. At one point, Isaac even got down on the floor to push the pedals while Ian was turning the steering wheel. It was hilarious to watch, although it was frustrating because you guys moved the mirrors and pushed a bunch of buttons. It took a little while to get back together so Daddy could drive again, but it was so much fun to have a cool play break on our long, hard drive. "

This is from Trish:

Journaling reads:DIRT
Even after all of the dump trucks that have visited our home, Patrick still gets just as excited to see one. There is nothing like the thrill of seeing such a big truck. He now knows to anticipate the loud “bang” as the tailgate crashes back into place and covers his ears. On this day, our excavator brought us just one more load before coming to do a final grade around the house. 5-30-06

Did this using Katie Mann's Austin's World - Toy Trucks.
